Default 1600 mile service

How much should this cost? Service dept told me they have to check valve clearances and such and it would be around 430$!!. EDIT

Called another honda dealer and he said after my 400-600 mile oil change i'm good till 3 thousand? Whats the deal here?

Don't know, don't care. I'm trading mine in next Feb for an 07 600rr in blue. =D No seriously though I thought the next service was at 8k. What does the manual say? I'll check mine when I get home.

ive about had it with these clowns!! 1st they take forever to get me a fan that went out on my f4i after 400 miles only after i bitched about them ordering the wrong part did they overnight the one I needed. Then they loose my title work for the DMV and i didnt have tags for about 3-4 weeks. Now there trying to screw me over in this "oh 1600 miles you need to have you valves checked for clearances and everything thing needs going over." I'm 1/2 tempted to call them back with this enlighting information.

My Clymer service manual says to check the valve clearances every 16000 miles not 1600... after your initial enging break in, maintenance is scheduled for every 4000 miles in addition to your regular oil changes and lubing the chain...

I second what e3gordon mentioned...

at 16,000 for me they had to shim almost every valve. so i would def take it in for 16,000 but for 1600 do nohtin. just change your oil. i hate how dealerships rape so may people

there also suspost to setup my suspension on this date should I still go and get it done? The only other dealership that said they would do it was a kawai suzuki dealer and that was only setting up my static.
