16,000 recommended oil?

Ok here's what I got I have a 05 and going on 16k, should I switch to synthetic blend or keep the 10x40w honda oil, just woundering if you guys have changed to synthetic, Ive heard shifting is better after switching and also heard it's not good on the clutch plates? all replies are appreciated!

I just went with the Honda synthetic blend. It's what it has always had. No real reason to change. It works good, and I am at 15300 and going strong despite a laydown and a washington winter.

Yep... and spark plugs too! Probably fork oil as well, I think that's every 10k or something

As far as switching, you've got plenty of miles if you wanted to switch to full synthetic, or just keep using what you're using it'll work too. It's really all personal preference what you want to use. I switched mine to Mobil 1 full synthetic at 5,000 miles and have been using it ever since. About to turn 60,000 miles now and still running strong as ever!

I have just over 10K miles on my bike and have always used the stock Honda oil or the equivalent 10-40 from quaker state. Change it 1 time a year. No problems...

Valve check, thats funny i was just at the dealer adn they said to check it every 20k but the owners say 16k so i might do it @ 18k lol then again its recommended 16k so im going by the book! plugs and fork oil as well thanks for your replies and happy riding!

It really depends how you ride your bike
but ya I doubt you really need a 16K valve check on a Honda ;)

I went to full synthetic at the first oil change and haven't looked back. NO, it will not hurt your clutch to use synthetic. If someone has had a clutch go when they switched to synthetic then that is because it was already going out. Synthetic rocks, and with your amount of miles you will notice a bit of a difference.

Yea I've never once heard of a Honda actually needing any adjustments made to the valves at 16k, and often times even double that. When mine was in for a valve check at 41k all of them were still in spec, so no adjustment needed. Gotta have it done again pretty soon and see where their at
