Today when i was riding to school it was 105 degrees outside. i had to travel west on i-10 for about 15 miles and the whole time the temp on my bike would not drop below 190. it stayed between 210 and 190 the whole time. too dam hot outside i guess.... any one ever experienced this?

I wouldn't really consider it a problem, one you get past 220ish although, I would consider it a problem hehe.

Funny you say that. Noticed my bike doing the same thing on a short ride but temps hereare onlyin the 90's so it had me worried too. My fan kicked in at about 200 degrees but bike still got up to about 215+ at stand still butwoulddrop once I got some wind. I'm gonna assume there is some air in the cooling system so I will probably flush the radiatorbut who knows maybe a tempgauge or thermostat stuck issue. Check the basics...Pinched/clogged lines, fan works, oil level okay. Then go deeper from there.

What should the temperature be? I just got mine and even though it's practically brand new I don't think the original owners followed the break in procedures correctly. When I'm at a standstill or in stop and go traffic it gets up to 226 (I'm in DC so it has been mid 80's and 90's but nothing like 105 degrees...yet). I have actually noticed that if I ride for a while the seat gets hot under me...and the tank too, up right past where my knees would be. I never had this happen on other bikes. Does this happen to anyone else? Should I have it checked out?

Mine gets hot sitting too.. Fan doesn't kick on until about 220 on my 05.. It's normal...All internal combustionenginesnot moving will eventually overheat without a fan.The reason the fan kicks on is to try to throw some relatively cool air thru the radiator...Driving it has the same effect.

Highway is around 180F
City at a stoplight is around 225F
Fans kick in around 220F

What you guys are experiencing ARE COMPLETELY NORMAL TEMPERATURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every other F4i member on this board....their bikes act EXACTLY like your bikes do.

DON'T WORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111

Alright...Alright...I won't worry about it. It's so much easier not knowing the temperature. Whatever happened to the good old temperature gauge? Red is bad...white is good.

we live in AZ. its hot in the summer so the bike isnt going to run at 180 during the day. 190 to 210 is normal for phoenix summer. it really shoots up sittin at a light.
