professionally tuned? what do you mean by that?

come spring, just lube everything up, check/replace your fluids and stuff and you're good to go.

if it's super cold...did you winterize your bike?

by professionally tuned i meant a dealer but that would cost me alot of $$ and some one the 600 mile marker is real critical stage. no it isnt winterized and it is a b**** to get started.

How did you get a 6yr old bike with 600 miles.

In you case i dont think it would matter since the bike was driven as much. That intial price is only 99.00 anyway so thats up to you.

Maybemy memory is a littleoff - but shouldn't he wait a little longer (couple thousand miles) before switching to full synthetic?
That was his question...

Thoughts there "William Hung"!?!?!?

can irun Bel Ray 100% synthetic 4-stroke oil in there
Yes.

since it is winter and cold up here in minnesota should i be starting it a few times a week or leave it till spring?
Remove and charge the battery once (Leave the battery in the garage. don't worry it wont freeze), cover the bike, and don't attempt to start it until you are ready to ride. If you do, the inside of the engine will condensate as it gets warmer and the oil wont get hot enough to boil the water off. the water will sit there, probably freeze, and could cause catastrophic engine falure and corrosion.

one last question since it only has 600 miles should i get itprofessionally tuned when spring comes....is it that criticall or how could i do it myself...

thanks!!
It's not critical that it be tuned. Unless you have a dyno in your living room, you cannot perform a solid tune by yourself.

Doesn't matter when you switch. you could take the factory oil out of the bike and replace it with MX4T or whatever at 0 miles and it wont effect anything. granted it will be hellaciously expesive for the first 1000 miles, but you can do it. I dropped my GN4 out at 600 and loaded Amsoil and 2000 miles later it's still in there (and sitting in the barn no less). No problems and the oil testing came back all green.

I always break in my cars with dino oil, because synthetic oil is better and doesnt allow as much friction and wearing of new parts to the correct size/shape. I dont think it is as important in a brand new bike from honda as it is for an aftermarket build.

yea it doesn't matter when you switch...

as far as 600 mile tune...there is no such thing. the service is just dealer adjusts cables, lube this and that, oil change, etc.

there is no tuning involved. they usually charge like 150...for nothing really.
