1/5 turn throttle

There might be some fly by wires bikes out there, but I dont know of them. Maybe the new Kawi. I am almost certain tho, that none of the Japanese 600 ro 1000 bikes are fly by wire. They all have throttle cables. No nothing shop guys are the worst. For confirmation, go to ronayers.com, look at the fiches and check to see if they sell throttle cables for any bike in question.

Yea, some bikes, mostly dirtbikes, use one throttle cable. Nearly all street bikes use 2. And using the term "fly by wire" isnt good. Oh well, it happens, but it just annoys me when guys like that spout off when they dont know what they are talking about and then people trust them and it gets spread around.

Ok, so that part number I gave is for a 2004 R6. It is NOT the same part recomended in that how to posted above this. I would trust what he says more. I am going to try this one this weekend and post how it works, but if anyone else is doing this, I recomend they use the throttle tube he suggests.
I say this after I tried it on my SV1000 and it did nothing. The amount of twist required wasnt changed. It seems as tho many people have done this to the SV650, but not the SV1000. I know most of this is useless info, but just sharing extra stuff. Hopefully it works for the F4i.

The part number on that link is the correct 1/6 turn Yamaha R6 throttle tube.

Since I was taking most of the right controls apart, I went ahead and upgraded the master cylinder to a radial one, kill switch and throttle housing to a 600rr unit.[/quote]
how do u like the new radial master? can u tell the dif? what makes it better?

I did the radial master cylinder at the same time as SS brake lines, and Vershaj brake pads; so its hard to say what did what. I would describe the brake feel as more linear, where the F4I was more progressive.

Ok, so after some research, this is what I came up with. Up thru 2005, all R-6 use the same throttle tube, part #5SL-26240-01-00. From 2006 til now, they use that same part number for the "S" model, but all the other R-6 models use a different one, part #2CO-02640-00-00. I might go to the dealer and get both, and see if there are any real changes, or if it just a different grip or something. I will let people know if I discover the cams are different. If I do this, I will also compare it to the motion pro with a pair of calipers.
