I'm surprised that you have people touching your bike. I would remove their fingers if they did so without asking.

I tell people that my bike is just like Deja Vu - you can look, but you can't touch - some people just don't listen. Including me if you know what I mean [sm=drooldude.gif]

I installed my Vortex sliders today (after putting it off for months). Glad I did it. I was nervous as hell, but it worked out fine. I used the tool from OES Accessories. Here's a tip that I learned, that might be useful to those who use that tool. Per the instructions, make your mark. Take the fairing off and drill a small pilot hole. Then, PUT THE FAIRING BACK ON TO CHECK IT VISUALLY. When you make your mark, the fairing gets pushed in a little bit, and it doesn't necessarily go straight back. So, if you aren't careful, your hole will be shifted. Not much, but if you're **** like me, it could bug you. When you put the fairing back on to check, just get down so that you are looking straight down the tool. Make sure that the point is in the center of your hole. I had to drift mine with a dremel to get them exactly centered.

Added O-rings around them to block the gap.

Check Home Depot / Lowe's etc. Or google for them. That's what I did.

OK, for anyone interested....I found a place to buy some grommets online. I think they will work fine. I'm a little concerned that they are 1.75 ID, and the sliders are just a hair over that, so it might be a little bit of a tight fit - just depends on how these grommets measure out.

Anyway, I got them from an industrial supply kind of a place, and had to buy 20 of them. I paid $1 a piece, plus shipping. If anyone is interested, PM me, and I'll send you a set for whatever my costs are so far plus shipping. Probably something like $5 for a set of 2.

Give me a few days to get these things delivered and installed, and if they work out OK, I'd be happy to sell about 8 sets of them. I'm gonna keep a spare set.
