What is the normal running temp. for 2002 f4i ?? And if running it pretty hard ????

believe another forum said 230-235 when sitting at light .... moving 180-200... but how the weather is all depends....

I'll say search...but be nice and tell you that the avg running is 180-200 and up to 229 is pretty avg in traffic/stop and go...that's the way it is for mine and most other people here, too. I don't think i've seen it go over 230, and i've heard that if it ever gets to 250 you have a real problem.

Yup, for mine normal operating usually between 170-200 depending on temperature and traffic, 200-230 in stop and go traffic or long idle.

228 is usually where the fan kicks in during stop/go traffic. Higher octane fuel makes it run hotter too. (please no flame wars on fuels)

running it hard might actually run it cooler... since you're at speed (although temp might rise quicker when you eventually stop). it's air cooled, so keeping it moving >20mph is the key. I dont think mine went >190 even at the track. Stoplights and traffic jams are another story though.

254 = shutdown the bike. that's when the lights come on. anything below that is cool... although you should rarely go over 230.

running pretty hard i still get around 172-175 deg. and at a lite i get at 205ish
