Default Will a 530 chain work with stock 15/43 sprockets??

Just got a 530 o-ring chain frm D2moto.com earlier... I have the stock gearing on my bike just for the time being(got the chain black Friday for like $20, I was going to swap out the sprockets soon anyway). Doesn't seem like I can use the stock rear sprocket because its binding really bad when I turn the rear wheel on my stand but works fine when spinning it the other way (as if im backing up on my bike). It seems like the teeth are too close thus causing it to bind. My question is, should I just go with a 41 tooth rear sprocket??

your chain and sprockes have to be changed together because as you ride your chain streches and your sprockets wear together making them one of a kind together. if you only change your chain or sprokets you are risking your bike breaking the chain or tearing the theeth off of your sprockets, this is why you are experiancing the binding of your chain... but I hope this makes sense. If not I hope someone else can explain better. I am also srry about the spelling.

Uh, your bike came from the factory with 15/43 sprokets and a 108 link 530 O-ring chain. It'll be no problem, bolt it up with new sprockets.

i tried, but it keeps binding up real bad to the point of having to force the wheel to turn... This chain is very firm and stiff unlike the old one. Although this is the first chain I've ever had to change on my first sportbike so I dont really know how it should feel, it's also a lot heavier

Yeah, CBR600's didn't get 525 chains until the F3. Are you using new sprockets? The pitch (distance btw teeth on the sprocket/chain pins) is the same on 500 series chains (520/525/530/532). Even if you had a different chain before, it'd feed thru (don't do this). If your sprocket is toast, it would be hard to feed over the sprocket. The old one might fit better because they both wore together. Your new chain will feel pretty stiff and it's annoying to feed it through.

I guess I will just have to get a new sprocket then, the teeth are somewhat chewed up and i can see little indentions in the old chains rollers. Just seems like even with the new chain and old sprockets it should at least work right and not bind up that bad. I guess i'll just get the new oem sprockets

thanks for all the help

That's your best bet, how many miles does the stock sprocket have on it
