Default Tire change

Well I just changed my tires on my bike. I will never do it myself again. Im a huge supporter of DYI and have done plenty of wrenching but, tires just suck! Just wanted everyone to know that if your thinking of doing tires yourself, spend the money and save yourself a major PITA! :P I put a 120/60/17 Michelin Power Pilot 2CT up front and a 170/60/17 Michelin Power Pilot in the rear. I used Dynabeads for my balancing. I do suggest if you use Dynabeads, put them in from the side of the wheel, not the valve stem. I can't wait to finish putting my bike back together so, I can get back on the road. Im just waiting for some parts now.

Tires can suck, it's true, but I'm thinking you just had some bad luck - I do all my own tire changes (it's been quite a few!), and it's not bad at all, if you know the right tricks. I use a cheap, crappy Harbor Freight tire changer, and though it's paid for itself ($50 to $60) many times over, I will be investing in a hitch-mount No-Mar tire changing system in the near future.
I also use Dyna-Beads - love 'em! If you cut the bottle nozzle, leaving a big enough hole, and hold the little filler tube snuggly on the valve stem and bottle nozzle, it shouldn't be a difficult or frustrating job.
Hopefully your next time will seem easier!
