Default Saving the stock R/R

Is there anyway to save your stock R/R from destruction? Such as any tricks, etc..?

Make sure it's bolted snugly against the metal plate behind it to dissipate as much heat as possible. Other than that, there's not much else you can do. The stock R/R is just a weak link on F2 and I suppose we should all just be happy that it's easy to get to and replace.

Nevermind saving your R/R, save your wiring harness and battery and replace the R/R.

Regulator / Rectifier, it's part of the charging system.
