Default Question for the carb guru's

My bike was running quite rich when I bought it last fall. I finally got around to tearing down the carbs this weekend. There was a jet kit in them from an unknown manufacturer. The needles where on the 3rd clip position and the main jets where 128. The mixture screws where all over. 2 1/4, 3, 3.5, and 2.5 turns out. I installed a new factory pro kit. I set the needle clips on position two, put the 130 jets in and set the mix at 2 turns out on all carbs.
The bike is pretty good now through the mid range. Maybe a bit soggy right around 4 k but a lot better.
Where I'm lost is on the mains. It used to get real soggy right around 9k. Now with the larger jets, which I put in because I fixed the fuel mix, I have a flat spot at around 9 and 11.
I have 128, 130 and 138 jets that came in my kit. 138 seems much to big. So how do I correct this?
The only thing I can think might work is setting the clips on position 1 and richening up the a/f mixture.

What do you guys think?

So upon further investigation it seems perhaps I do want to try the 138's. Maybe the wet spot I had prior to rejetting was do to the K&N being filthy and probably quite restrictive. I cleaned and oiled of while it was out.
Any advice is still appreciated.
