Default Question about an electrical problem?

Hey I'm kinda new here... but I have a 1992 CBR600F2, just bought her a month ago... she's ridden fine up until about a week and a half ago, and she killed a battery, I bought her a new one and she killed another one half-way across town... had to pop the clutch on a 20 mile ride home like 8 times... The lights go real dim at times when applying the throttle, then they'll go back bright, same thing with the gauges, the battery keeps dying though, rather quickly. So I'm trying to figure out what's going on... you think it's the stator going out? Maybe the voltage regulator frying my batteries? I need some help guys, thanks.

im having the exact same problem right now. I have my battery on the charger currently. If I have time later I'm going to go buy a multimeter and read the voltage at the battery, and inspect the R/R.

yeah bro, get a multimeter and check the voltage on your battery.
the R/R must load only 15 volts maximum at 5000 or higher rpms, if you have more the R/R is dead. but if you fried you battery on a ride, you must check your leak current, maybe you have positive wires connected to the ground and making a short circuit. check your fuses, in your bike you have 5 fuses, 1 main fuse of 30 amps(near the battery), 3- 10 amps fuses and 1- 15amps fuse on fuse box. if you have bigger, change them.

and if you want to take a ride shift gears below 5000 rpms until you change the R/R because if you want 10k rpms and you R/R are bad, thats the reason of your dry and burned battery.

Well that's the thing, is it is KILLING the batteries, the battery I have in BARELY has the power to even start the headlight now until I finally pop the clutch and have the bike running, other than that it's just pretty much completely dead, destroyed status. So I don't know if the voltage reg could fry it... I was just curious.

I suppose it doesn't matter now... I went out for an afternoon ride about an hour ago and laid her down doing 30 because two tail-gating pot head ******** hit her back fender as I turned, then drove off... oh well, I'm not done riding yet... so we'll see how it goes I suppose....

Yeah we probably did, the bike for me is completely totaled though, front forks need completely redone, need a new radiator, the frame is tweaked, the whole left side is pretty much smashed... luckily for me with gear on I walked away with some small road-rash on my kneecap and a knee the size of an american football. lol... I'm conflicted now over whether to get another bike, or a car this time... I was over confident and I think that I entered the turn too quickly and laid it down myself, they may not have even clipped me, I feel like I lost control and I'm responsible... but now I'm conflicted over whether to get another bike, or quit and get a car... it's hard, but hopefully I get through, I'm looking at a New F4I maybe... we'll see.

Where are you from? I'd love to take your wrecked F2 off your hands to potentially make into a track bike!
