Default Is my fan broken?

Does the fan run constantly or do they cut on and off like a car? I noticed mine wasn't turning when I cranked the ol' girl up last night.

They're set to come on at a certain temp. Not sure what it is set at on yours. On the '08 1000RR the right side fan turns on at 217F and the left at 223F degrees.

ok cool. I wasn't sure. I only have one. I'll let it heat up and see if it kicks on.

It only kicks in when the gauge hits about 2/3 of the way up.

At idle, roughly how long would it take to heat up enough to kick on the fan. I'm in 90* weather in south fla.

Here in Louisiana, it's been in the 96-98 range constantly (w/ 80% humidity, sheesh) and my bike still doesn't warm up enough on a normal commute in traffic to kick the fan on. I did just flush/fill the system and added a little water wetter. Gotta get some longer rides int o see how it acts.
