Default Kickstand Failure

Ok so I went riding today (around the block) and I noticed the bike was cutting off and on. I just started it up and took off, so the R/R was not that hot or hot at all. Now just so you know I have an R/R in the mail as we speak, but as I was riding I noticed a thread about the kickstand causing problems so I put my foot on the kickstand and pushed it up to see if the problem would insist and it actually cleared the problem right up. So I rode all the way home and came in the house and started typing to you guys because I need to know how to disconnect the kickstand sensor. Any help would be great. Thanks

I followed the wires to where they unplugged. Then unplugged it, cut the connecter off of the kickstand side. Stripped the 3 wire and twisted them all together, cover in heat shrink stuff. Then plugged the cut off connecter back in. Its worked for 17 years.

Rather than by-pass, look over the spring and pivot on the stand. If that's an issue,
see if a little attention, WD-40 and lube, won't get the stand to operate properly and
stay where it belongs when riding. I would not like it, if the spring, etc. failed
completely and I was running the twisties when the stand dropped all of the way down.

Just a thought, Ern

Ok so where do I find the connected wires? Under the tank? This will be the first thing I try. Thanks for the assistance guys you rock.

UPDATED!!!!!

Thanks for the advice, worked like a charm. Carbs seem a little out of sync but I can worry about that later. I have a new problem now. I posted a thread in the For sale, wanted sections that explains it all. Thanks again.
