Default How to lower cbr600 F2i

I have been trying to figure out how to lower my F2. Some people told me that is was as easy as holding it up on the kickstand and having someone turn the adjustable piece in the pics. Well, it does NOT work lol I did everything I could including pushin and hammering with wrench and screw drivers. It is sooooo hard :s.

I searched every single page of this forum and there are ony two threads about it, one is about adding links, I do not need lowering links.
The other one is a dumb discussion about whether or not to lower it.

So please someone give me a hand on this.

Thank you!!!!

owesome.. thank you.

I figured out that the tool I use to take oilfilter out works great to turn that part in the pictures, but it only releases presure from springs making it softer but does not lower the bike.. Put it back to 7 which is where I feel more confortable.

I found the links you referred me to.

Thank you. they are like $60 on Ebay.

welcome to the site.

yep - the adjuster you point to is just spring preload. It is not a height adjuster. Stock F2/F3/F4/F4i rear shock has no height adjustment Setting it at full soft might allow you a fraction of lowering due to increased sag - but then you have a shock that's not tuned for your weight most likely.

Lowering links is the only way to lower the rear end, other than getting an height-adjustable rear shock.

And there's no such thing as an F2i , unless you've done a fuel-injection upgrade, in which case we demand a full writeup and how-to. :-)
