Default help w/ taillight install

I'm trying to wire up a different taillight that has integrated turn signals. I believe the blue and yellow wire off the taillight go to the turn signals but the kid also came with block resistors??? not sure what there for but since theres two am i supposed to wire those into the turn signals or something. then there's wiring into the harness for the brake light. The taillight im using has three wires, and there all run into a plastic wiring connector for the original bike and ours has three wires run into a plastic wiring connector for our normal brake light. The problem is, i have no idea what the wires on our bike are for. Considering there is three, i think one is pos ones neg and the others ground i think? But ya, just wondering what wires are which and what the block resistors are... i hate electric work

it didn't come with a with diagram? can you download one from the manufacturer or contact them to get one?

just guessing... but i believe the resistors are to put more resistance in the turn signal circuit so they will blink.

a factory wiring diagram will tell you which wires are the tail, brake, and ground. if you have a test light or a voltmeter, you can test each to find what they each do. tail will have voltage with the key on, brake will have voltage only with the brake applied, and ground will not have power at all.

nah it didn't come with a wiring diagram. Looks like i'll add those resistors in to the turn signals, and can i use quick connects instead of the stock wiring connections so i don;'t have to re tie these connections every time i take the tail apart?

sure you can. connectors that can be unplugged are a good idea.

cool, well i'm looking at our online manual, it says that for the taillight brakelight assembly there is a green/yellow, green, and brown wire. and then for the turn signals there is a green and orange for the left, and a green and light blue for the right. on my setup since the PO already tried to make integrated tails and failed miserably, theres only 2 wires back there now for the turn signals so i'm going to try it and see if they work

The Brown is the running light power, the yellow/green is the brake light power, & the green is the ground. Green is ground on all Honda MC. The resistors are there to slow down the blinks. They need to be wired in like a light bulb. One side to ground & the other side to the hot/power side of the turn signal.

Also, the resistors could be for an LED set up since they draw much less than regular lamps
