Default help with battery

I just got the bike today and haven't quite figured out how to get to the battery, which ran okay this morning, just slowed and stopped and won't start. I would love any input!!

to your previous post. your battery is under your seat. take the rear side fairings off and unbolt the seat and the battery should be there. hope this helps. i would recommend a battery tender jr. in the future to hold a charge over night so the battery is fully charged and the bike is ready to ride

See what condition the battery is. After its charged take a meter and test to see what kind of power your getting out of your charging system. You could have a failing charging system which is common on these bikes. It has left me strained before.

Yes check voltage on the battery with a voltage meter. Go on yuasa website and watch their videos it should tell you what kind of voltage to expect from a good fully charged battery. Check your rectifer and rectifier plug as well. Make sure its not burned on the stator wires. Rectifier is located on the rear right of the tail.

Hopefully they check the battery for free or a small fee. Don't let those mechanics screw u over. I dislike shops

i need someone to teach me the inner workings of a bike in general (preferably mine)
i want to know where a problem could be coming from so i don't end up falling apart lol
well i'm either going tomorrow or when i finally get solid work hours, just in case i don't want to leave without patching something up..

you should post some pics of your bike. they have some service manuals on ebay you can buy. that should help you out. and since you got the bike i would service it. i wouldnt change the oil till the spring though. it will save you some money. i would check your chain, make sure its lubed, check tires, tire pressure, etc
