I'm sure it's nothing personal, bud.
I checked out your other thread on your RR and tried to answer it the best I could. Sounds like a junk RR, but maybe people were kind-of put off considering it was a newer one that should be quality and they just weren't sure what else it might be.
Wish you the best of luck with it, man. Dam.... almost 20V is BAD! Any time you could cook a steak on your battery, that's too much current!

edit: another thing I just realized is that you'll probably get a lot more views/responses if your r/r thread was on the main board instead of in the tech section. I can move it on over there.

Yeah, I didn't see your post either. It's nothing personal, we all just got jobs and ****. Although, I'm at work writing this, heh. Web development for the win...

So yeah bud, toast R/R it sounds like. Stinks that it's a new one that went bad, but it does happen. Consider putting something else on your bike to increase it's draw and keep some of the stress off the R/R. Go with a 90w/130w perhaps

Nothing personal from me either, sometimes I just skip the threads that look like the same as 30 other threads that have been previously posted.

(R/R problems, CCT problems, turn signal problems, won't start problems etc. etc.)

Well i thank you guys bigtime for replying!!! I appreciate it. I just got my new r/r in today and put it on and the peak voltage is no more than like mid to high 14's. Hope this one last. I got the last one from rick's and the new one from electrosport but they are the same r/r! Guess i'll see if this one goes bad in a year. Also, will putting a headlight on that draws more power help relieve stress on the r/r? Didn't know that if it does. Thanks again for replying and sorry for sounding like a dick, i just was frustrated with my bike and needed help.

No worries - Just remember that it's a forum, not a help line!

I just swapped out my R/R because I had a nice mosfet one on my shelf. $20 in connectors later and the bike seems nice and happy. I'll see how it's doing later on. I'm thinking of adding a voltage meter to the gauges once things start to come together.

All bikes should come with a voltage meter. Would let you know your R/R was toast asap and keep you from getting stranded ... but I guess the extra 2oz or $3 is just too much for the factory to handle

Regarding the higher wattage bulbs ... dunno if I'd go that high unless you ran new wires. Stockers are 55W ... almost doubling that might be asking for trouble without beefing things up. If you spend a lot of time in traffic or near idle it could slow the battery charging also.
