Default Got a new one for you guys...... Driving through a monsoon = FAIL

So me and some friends went to the beach this past weekend and on the ride home we went through some BAD rain i mean it was pouring and lightning and even a little hail. After we made it through the rain we pulled over to take a break and noticed my boys headlight had went out on his f3 i mean the casing was filled with water. We drained the headlight and popped in a new bulb and hit the road agian..... well a couple miles down the road his bike suddenly dies when he gave it throttle but it was running at idle minus gagues, lights etc. When he cut it off and tried to turn it back on...... nothing. We checked the main fuse and all the others and they are in perfect shape so thats not the issue. Any ideas? im going to post in the f3 section soon if not. Thanks agian guys!!!!

r/r got pissed off? first thing I would check is to see if the r/r is charging the battery correctly

No power at all? Power but won't turn over? Turns over but won't start?

it does nothing wheb you turn it on, no light, nothing. Were gonna put my rr on it tonight and charge the batt to see if that fixes it.

Charge the battery and turn on the ignition without the r/r connected.
Even without the r/r in place you should get instrument lights and crank (with the batt fully charged).

If the bike remains dead measure the batt voltage.
If its ok (>12V) check the main fuse and work your way from there.

If battery voltage is not ok you either have a faulty battery or something is draining it.

To check if something is draining you battery, disconnect the negative pole.
Then with a voltmeter measure the voltage between battery negative and the frame.
The voltage should be close to zero. If it isn't then something is draining your battery.

okay, his rr is puttin out 14.5v at idle and almost 19v at 5k so I'm assuming the rr is bad? His battery was puttin out 12.8v but not getting anything when the bike is turned on but when we put my battery in it fires right up! So I'm concluding that his rr and battery are bad and need to be replaced. Correct me if I'm wrong.
