gear change
hi all, i've recently put my bike back together and took her for a test run down my street, cant get her out of first by changing up but when i pushed down she changed into second i've checked the punch marks on the spline and the lever and they both match up
i've looked in my trusty haynes bible and the picture in there doesnt resemble the way my lever is set up??? anyone have any ideas??
many thanks, chris

I've never found it easier to be honest... It's awkward to pull up on the shifter while trying to position my body coming hot into a corner on the brakes.
It just feels natural to "stomp" down through the gears, and while hard on the gas in full tuck my feet are in a better position to pull up on the lever for upshifts.
However, there must be some benefit as obviously most professional racers use this GP shift pattern.
