Front fork slop

Front fork slop
So i got 94 f2. Love the bike and it is my first street bike (came from dirt riding) But i just had a question about the suspension. I really do not like how the front fork feels on this bike. I havent opened it up or anything but it just does not feel good. The action is smooth but it feels very soft and unstable when braking and turning.
So my question is, are these forks just not good, or is something potentially wrong with mine.
What are the upgrade uptions worth doing, different weight oil, springs, re valving? or full replacement?
the rear shock feels alright to me... seems like after i set the sag ill be content with it, im sure their is room for improvement though. what are common upgrade options for the rear shock?
thanks. I just really want this bike to handle well, im content with the power but i just feel like the handling is sloppy. maybe I just suck at riding though... ha

thanks, yeah im going to give that a shot, I bought a set of racetech springs and im going to flush the fork fluid and put new in. I think that should make a good difference. Who knows maybe the fork has a leak or is low in fluid for some reason. Guess ill see when i open it up.
It's an almost 20 year old motorcycle, and 9 times out of 10 the forks haven't been serviced since being built. The oil will help, and the springs will too. They were meant for 160lb riders, and as they get beat up over the years they degrade as well.
Once they're rebuilt, maybe hit up a suspension tech at a reputable shop for a good baseline setup. They usually only want $40, and they'll get you pointed in the right direction.

yeah, the stock spring rate seems to be only good for someone whos like 130 lbs, and im 155-160. The spring rate on the shock seems decent, but I might go ahead and throw a new one on there, then like you said have someone set up a good baseline adjustment for my weight and riding style. Im not concerned with power at all, the bike has plenty. I just want it to handle as well as possible. What other common inexpensive mods would you recommend for a better handling bike?
