Default F2 gauges with f4i stay

Hey everyone, been a while huh?

Well ive been working on amd off to complete my f4i front Fairing swap on my f2. Things are going well, but i hit a small snag. The new gauges i bought a long time ago have really bad instructions, have no ability to adjust them, and ultimately turned out to be harder to hook up than i wanted.
Now i have heard of people using the stock gauge by simply removing the black outer plastic.
Im hoping someone can post some pictures for me of how you mounted it to the f4i stay to help me out.
Anything would help.

Thanks!

Fairing swap is done. Now its just the gauges. I tried to make my digital gauge work, but its having problems. I have a wire that attaches where the speedo cable goes and is suppose to convert it to a digital signal. Problem is, its either bot reading, or it thinks im going 634mph (with a backwards 6). So i can either continue to try and get the stupid gauge working, or just hack my oem gauge up a little (the mounting holes all have to come off) and try to mount it instead. I have an idea of how to do it, but i will need to go buy a small sheet of aluminum and some 4 - 5 inch skinny bolts.

not exactly an f4i stay, its a 600rr stay, but i managed to use my f2 gauges by mocking up where they go, removing the black plastic, and simply drilling a hole through the stay in the location of the stock bolt on the gauges. hope that makes sense

No worries! Like I said just put it all together, take the black housing off and slide it in there. Play around abit to make sure you can get to the plugs and what not. Once it's in a position, Mark the bottom hole. Pull it off and drill through. I had to use a couple washers on the back side because of the ribbing on the stay, but it is solid. Doesn't vibrate and is clear enough for me to keep an eye on through my "lower vision" for lack of a better term lol.

Yeah, just the one bolt. I did take a rubber grommet that fits snugly around the bolt and in the gauge hole though. Other then that, I just tightened it down good. Also, when fiiting I had the windscreen out as you can see to ensure it all fits. Its tight, but I have lock to lock steering and no issues.
Fiancees have a habit of changing our plans lol. Its life. lemme know how it works out for you

Well, seems i got it to fit! i see what you mean by a tight fit. had to bend the metal wire that holds all the cables and such "up" on the left side handle bar so i could turn the bars all the way without hitting the gauges, but it works.
cant really see the numbers on the speedo between 0-30 mph but i can see the needle, so ill have an idea at least, and ill get used to it. thanks for the help!

I will try and get a picture of it with the fairing on tonight. i had to pull the gauge off to solder a plug back on.

No problem, glad I could help. Yeah, up to thirty, not really an important issue to me lol, but the needle is good enough for me.
