F2 Fork Swap
 

Can anyone help me by telling me what forks would fit my F2 ,, She is a FM model ..
I have to replace the complete front end ,forks wheel etc .

Is it possible to press the stem out of the F2 bottom clamp it looks to be welded in ,and is there any direct forks and clamps that are a direct swap as in blade or similar .

There are a couple forks that use the same diameter tubes. You will prolly have to change the front wheel & brakes if you go that route.

Any F2 (PC25) fork will work - there were slightly upgraded forks used on the 1994 models.

F3 (PC31) forks will work, but to use with F2 wheel and brakes you'd have to use F2 lowers on the F3 uppers. Triples are the same for both F2 & F3.

If you do a full F3 front end, (or any other front end) then you'll lose your speedometer capability, as F2 used the front hub for the speedo, and later models used a sensor in the drivetrain or motor.

edit: the F2/F3 use 41mm diameter inner tubes. If you upgrade to USD's from some newer bike, you'll need the clipons for that other fork as well.

I personally have done a '98 GSXR fork swap, with 6 piston calipers. Hit me up if you have questions, oh here is a hint to what will fit the f2;

Honda:
'91 to '98 CBR600F2/F3, '06 to '07 EX650R, '88 to '90 NT650 Hawk, '90 to '97 VFR750, '92 to '96 CBR1000, '98 to '02 VTR1000/Superhawk, and '89 to '90 CB1.
Kawasaki:
'90 to '97 ZX6/R, '06 to '08 Ninja 650R, and '88 to '90 ZX10.
Suzuki:
All GSF400/600 Bandit, '88 to '97 GSXR600/750/1100, '99 to '07 SV650, and '86 to '87 GSX750/1100.
Yamaha:
'94 to '95 YZF600, and '87 to '88 FZR750/1000.

Of those, it looks like the Suzuki forks might be your best bets for performance and tuning ability.

If I were you I'd rock the forks off the 94 f2 Simple plug an play

I still have my f2 forks if you want them, $100. Obviously no use for them.

Underground, what year F2 forks? have you sold 'em yet?

And to Adrenaline Junky...I think I had heard before, that the F3 uppers were a no-nonsense direct fit to F2 lowers, I take it that's true? I'm takin' my ride to the track quite a bit this next season, and was just about to replace the seals and springs in my '93 F2 forks, but should consider going a little more advanced. The thing is, for now, I want to retain my front wheel-driven speedo.
If it IS an easy swap, I should consider F3 uppers, for sure - are there any advantages of the later year F3 forks? And, lastly, what adjustablility would I gain with F3 forks, over a swap to '94 F2 forks? As far as the older CBR's are concerned, my '93 F2 is all I've owned or ridden, so I don't have much knowledge on the F3 features - I know they are plentiful, but I literally don't know a single person with an F3.
Sorry for all of the questions, I had intended to go through with a Gixxer front-end swap, which would resolve all issues, but I'm running out of coin, and the season is soon upon us!

Yes, I still have them, '93 F2 forks. Just collecting dust. Needs new seals though. I installed a Racetech spring kit too in both forks. Thinking of throwing them on ebay if no one wants them this Spring. Straight and don't need them anymore after my Gsxr fork swap.

Did you happen to do a write up on your GSX-R front end swap? That is what I want to do in the future, but like I said before, not enough money for this season, with all the prep and mods that are already in the works.
Did you get the front end from a 600, 750, or 1000? or are they all the same? I am assuming you just had to buy custom steering stem bearings? how's the offset and overall length of the forks compared to stock?
