Axle Problem =/

Default Axle Problem =/

I have my bike up on a crappy front wheel jack stand and I cant get my axle through the other fork =/ the wheel bearings maybe?

ok so it turns out that the problem is that the axle wont go through the left fork (right when facing the front of the bike). Does anybody have any knowledge or info to throw at me? Im completely stumped =/

Be sure it's not intended to go through in the opposite way.
Axles are often 'handed', one side of the shaft is larger than the other.

Im putting it in the same way it came out =/ I am so confused, I have never encountered this problem before.

Its almost seem like the fork has created a little lip that the thick part cannot go through. If I turn the fork around the opposite way, it will fit through though.

sounds like that front wheel jack is the type that supports the bike by the bottom of the fork legs? Like 74demon suggests - the weight of the bike might be closing up the spacing on the fork leg?

Might need a pic of what you're working with here.

yea they are, I managed to get everything back together, but not quite how I planned, and it made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but I lubed up the axle and then hammered it with a rubber hammer really hard until i went back through. I got the axle bolt on too, but it required way more elbow grease than when I took it off. Is that normal?

No. It should have gone together fairly easy. Sometimes a little tapping is needed, but not much.

you were right adrenalnjunky, that jack stand stinks =/ lol But it was fairly cheap.
