Default Adjusting choke

I took off my carbs a week ago and ever since it has been back together my bike will not start with half choke or more...and if it's running and give it half or more choke it dies.. Do I juss need to adjust it? Maybe it's too tight or too loose?

Take the tank and airbox off, you should be able to see the choke mechanism and how it works, and if it needs more slack.

definitely inspect it, like he said, but doesn't sound like too out of the ordinary behavior to me anyway

if you adjusted the carbs, and the bike is now cranking without choke, then why use the choke?

You would never really wanna turn on the choke on an already running bike.

Meh, it just richens it a smidge. It won't blow up or anything

Check the free play in the cable, check it's operation, etc etc. You should be able to troubleshoot this in under an hour. That cable generally desont' need lubing, but it will go dry over the course of nearly 20 years. I bet it's never been lubed. Give it a few squirts, work it in there, and then you're ready to ride.

(that's what she said).
