Default 1992 CBR600 F2 Speedometer problem

Since it's winter I thought it would be a great time to fix my speedometer. The RPM gauge works along with every other light on the dash, the speedometer doesn't move and the back light for it doesn't light up either. The wire that goes from the back of the dash to the wheel is connected to the dash and down to the part near the brake. I have pics below (sorry I took them with my phone), what do you guys think it could be? Is their a way to check whats wrong? Thanks guys

Unscrew the cable from the back of the dash and see if you can turn the little tab inside, if it spins freely the cable inside is broken and the cable needs to be replaced.

It's a mechanically driven speedometer, so chances are if the needle doesn't move, the cable is broken.
