Douglas_1987 06-25-2011 06:15 PM

Well been awhile since I started this topic

But small update in the past months ive not had much chance to do much to it but i've removed all the panels and got back to the frame.

wich will need sanding and painting I also got around to removing the rear wheel wich took work as it was sized solied to uncover I nice rusted and mucky swingarm so I migth just do a full rebuild from the ground up and have the whole frame sandblasted and powdercoated

Will upload pics when I can so u can all see

higgy2011 07-28-2011 06:46 AM

Hey douglas, have you fixed the brakes up yet? I am free this weekend if you need a hand matey

PanMan 07-28-2011 10:14 AM

£400 ?? I only paid £275 for the one pictured in my intro/noobie thread ;o)

So far my total costs (inc purchase price) to get her all road legal and sorted are about £550 (this includes shipping from Cambridge to Aylesbury)

Hmm guess it really was a bargain :)

Hey people

No update as of yet due to easter so the paint guys shut for a few days and the swingarm needing a few more coats of laqauer

hoping to have it back with in the next week so when i do i will get in to a rolling frame and take pics

with final colour still very much unsure what to do but i'm liking the idea of a dark red

fallingspark 04-11-2012 08:18 AM

oooh i am looking forward to this:icon_hyper:

Douglas_1987 05-06-2012 08:56 AM

well the good news is that the frame is now sitting in my front room so over the next few weeks i can start to rebuild it just got to wait for monday to go and buy some new stainless steel bolts and headrace bearings

JNSRacing 05-14-2012 01:07 PM

Very anxious to see your progress! Keep us posted!

Douglas_1987 05-27-2012 11:14 AM

rigth picking up New headstock bearings this week and also going to order new tyers and some Stainless steel bolts

so hopefully will have a rolling frame by next week

Gabriel Fernandez 05-27-2012 11:31 AM

nice work there.. superb colour of the frame :D

Douglas_1987 05-31-2012 07:16 PM

small update

.Headstock bearings picked up
.Maxxis supermaxx sport Tyers order front 120/60 rear 160/60 order and fitted
.stanless steel Bolts order

all ready to go for the next 2week off from work so hoping to hit this build hard

Douglas_1987 06-08-2012 04:25 PM

right small update on hold at the moment as I'm waiting on some stainless steel bolts

and also as my main ride has decided it wants some love and money spent on it :icon_doh: by developing a gear issue and eating the rear wheel bearing

Douglas_1987 07-22-2012 01:22 PM

Well I've got the drive to kick-start this project back up.

After the good weather has come in to stay and walking in to the garage were its been sat for the past month but will need to wait till the end of the month to start on it. As it turns out my gearbox issue was a bent selector fork which is now in for repair and also needing new tyres

but will hopefully start the project sooner if i can

Wranghondo 08-11-2012 11:08 PM

Dude, we need more pix of the project. Come on man!

Douglas_1987 08-12-2012 12:34 PM

will get some up when i've done more.

But at the moment its hard to do any work as most of my cash is going on travelling to work and places due to not having my main ride back from the garage :( waiting on a gear box shim from kawkai Japan

Where's the long awaited update???

Douglas_1987 02-05-2013 06:25 PM

its not moved on much due to the headstock bearing cups putting up one hell of a fight with not wanting to seat in place :(

JNSRacing 02-19-2013 11:01 AM

Any progress, Douglas? We needz our fix, yo! Build threads are like catnip for bike guys!

Douglas_1987 06-27-2013 11:14 AM

After final getting a) money b)time and c) help the bearing cups are in so now with hopefully some good weather i can get this old girl on road before summer ends :)
