Even if it fit without rubbing the chain (I don't know if it would or not), I would NOT recommend it on the stock rim. Its far too narrow for that wide of a tire. The tread profile will be pinched and the tire won't handle (lean in) as it was designed.

i wouldnt try it with an f2 rim... it would fit but the tire would be out of shape... i would upgrade the rim to an f3 rim so it spreads out wider especially with the chain

The F3 rim still isn't as wide as a rim should be for a 180 tire. But it will be closer.

For anyone that's done it: Does the F3 rim retain the same sprocket location? i.e. are their any alignment issues between the front and rear sprockets?

I have no wear issues, bead issues, rubbing issues or performance issues. I can lean the bike over more then my buddies with stock size tires on their sv650 (160) and triumph tripple (180). The only issues I have is the tire likes to slide because its a hard compound tire. But its the only tire I had to put on at tthe time. no regrets
