Default New Guy from Michigan...

Hello, here is my intro post to this forum. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I recently purchased a 1992 F2. I haven't ridden in many years, but had fifteen years of riding experience back in the day... (Cue music - Toby Keith "I ain't as young as I once was...") At any rate, I guess I consider this a refund for my mis-spent youth...

I found this bike a few months ago and have made the following changes to it:
  • Michelin Pilot Power tires
  • Goodridge stainless brake lines
  • Targa clutch and brake levers
  • sanblasted and painted the Cobra exhaust pipe
  • polished and repacked exhaust can, made carbon fiber hanger
  • rear turnsignals from Lockhart/Phillips
  • cleaned and degreased everything I could reach...
Bike has a 44 tooth rear sprocket. I didn't count the teeth on the front when I had the sprocket cover off... Sure seems geared low for highway use, but gets up and goes around town. The fairing was mounted crooked when I bought it, but his was caused by the horn being mounted poorly. The horn stuck out to left, so I remounted it so the horn is "inside" towards the forks. This allowed me to re-align the fairing. The stay was also a bit crooked, but nothing a bit of persuasion didn't move... It has a K&N airfilter, and I am guessing it has been jetted, because it runs quite well without feeling starved. I hope to get this to Grattan raceway in 2011 for some trackdays.

I have found some good information at this forum, so thanks to all the contributors.

thanks!

YB...

Thanks for the kind comments! Well, it's been a long cold winter, but now it is time to think about getting ol'red out again... Looking at some Spiegler EVO brake rotors and Spiegler mirrors for her soon. Probably an NRC left side cover too... I will post up picks after I get any thing new on her...

Love Grand Rapids. Go up there every once in a while to visit my college (GVSU Lakers). I'm trying to get my bike as cleaned up as that before I take it out.
