As long as you keep up with the maintness, install a ape cam chain tensioner, It should last forever.

Honda has the most reliable motors ever made. And their transmissions are almost bulletproof.

The motor I had in my race bike ad 28,000 miles on it, And once tuned right, was a screamer. Once time, coming out of a corner wfo, at about 90mph, I for some reason forgot the bike was gp shift, and downshifted, (the bike was already at readline) and well, it was a very scary situation. But Motor was just fine, I did another 5 track days on it before I put in my superbike motor.

That motor is sitting in my garage torn apart, and other than a clutch. Its just fine. Ill prob put 1mm over pistons, smooth out the ports, and put new bearings on it. But shes fine.

Gp shift is 1 up, 5 down.

The superbike motor is in my F3. If has a stage 2 port and polish job, stage 2 cams, aluminum rods, Wiesco pistons, Litened and balanced crank, and loss of ignition.

1994 CBR 600 F2. This is my first sportbike, coming from the world of 80's standard bikes. What a difference!

Edit: And only 9,000 miles to boot.

What he said.. And on our bikes all you have to do is flip the linkage.. I l o v e the gp pattern. Seems easier for clutchless upshift and you dont have your foot in between on the upshift at lean angle :^D Just DONT FORGET like 4th gear, redline.. and DOWNSHIFT!! lol Some people even put a sticker on the tach labled 'GP' as a quick reminder

My bike at the Vista House out on Highway 84 in Oregon. Good view of the Colubmia river in the background as well.
