RE: looking for a streetable drag tire...
I bought my cbr600F4 with shinko tires. Advanced Radials. They were okay I guess. Not very confidence inspiring in the corners at all however. I found my Avon Azaro's on my F2 were a much better tire. And the Bridgestone BT014's I put on the F4 after were much much nicer too.

I have a shinko on my 98 f3 its a little heavier than the one micky thompson sells but its have the price to. I think the m/t is suppose to be a better tire but I think they only make them in 180 and 190. I'm running a 1998 Cbr600f3 extended 6" swingarm, lowered and a 14/48 gearing with a 18/20 jets on NOS and It hooks and runs great.I had one that lasted a season(8 races)but you have to take it easy on the 3rd gear burnouts.

Shinko running and racing got about 3000 miles. on the 600rr put the 003 on it and lost 4hp. the stock tire hooked pretty good and lasted awhile going back to it in the spring. on my big bike i like the shinko hooked very well, the MT mcr2 is lighter and hooks better but would only last me about 4 races

I have a shinko ultra soft on my bike and i love it. I have only put about a 1000 miles on it but it still has a lot of tread on it. Its a great road tire and it hooks up like hell on the track. I dont know how long its gonna last but for $120.00 its well worth the money!

shinkos will be your best bet for street/drag tires. they do good on the street.....and better on the track. esp for the price. i'm currently runnin a ultra soft 190/70 shinko on my 900rr and HAD a standard shinko...lasted me from may to september....lots of daily ridin and occasional drag nites. the m/t is a drag only tire....lighter than the shinko and hooks hella better, but more expensive. a heavier tire will take some hp so think bout it. bud of mine had a shinko on his sv1000 and he did lots of mountain ridin and he loves it. another had a metzler or whatever tire on his gsxr1000 and he did alot of ridin and street racing on it and it lasted pretty long.

probly because the local honda dealership keeps a ton in stock so there easily available..in my opinion once you warm them up there far superior to any other tire ive used..as far as the drag strip i know thats not what there ment for but they always hook great i cant say anything but good things about them
