I've had 164 indicated..not sure actual speed.. But I'm just curious why it matters to you what the top speed of the bike is? Are you going to drag with it?

Even if he drags with it he's not coming close to top speed in the 1/4.

well i would like to take it out to the track athough i dont know how good i would be at racing but i dont want to make it a strick drag bike but i was only curios of how much power the bike was capable of if i were ever able to bring up to that speed + someone told me all bikes stock are governed to about 160 by government regulations. he said a r6 and an r1 have the same top end off the show room floor but i ust find that wrong but i dont know enough to argue lol

Well if your talking a racing track the 600RR is an awesome bike, if you're talking the drag strip then I would say don't look at a 600 period. And when you say you don't know if you would be any good at racing you are the perfect canidate. It is easier to learn something new like how to be fast on the track and everything that goes along with it than it is to change old habits that may slow you down. As you may or may not know the indicator would be a few mph off at top speed, so even though mine has read 164 in reality 600CC bikes go about 145-150 maybe.

The 600RR has PLENTY of power especially mid range but it is not a drag bike...

The R1 definately has a higher top speed. the government regulates the top speed of the 1000's to 186 mph. most 600's are claimed to do between 160-165.
