Default 06 600rr v. 06+ Gixxer 750

So this was my first time actually racing someone. We were both at a stop and he asked me to run. I agreed and I saw his "750" stickers so I figured I would lose but whatever. We went for it from a 10mph roll to eliminate launching issues which kinda sucked because I figured the only way I would have a chance at winning was from a launch. So 10mph roll and we gunned it and the throttle response was so great I couldnt keep my bike straight LOL. Shifted to 2nd and then to 3rd and by around 115mph we were DEAD EVEN. Slowly after 120 he started to pull andI shut down at 140. I'd say by 140 he had 1 - 1 1/2 bike lengths on me. I stopped at 140 because I knew the road and I knew it wasnt best to go any faster. He kept going though. I was VERY happy with the result. When I saw the 1/4 times between the two bikes I knew it wasnt much but at those speeds even the .03 (thats how much faster the 750 is) make a BIG difference. I guess not though. All I know was his bike had a pipe and my bike has a pipe and a bmc race filter.

My conclusion is that up to speeds of 110-120 600cc-1000cc bikes would be rather close and after those speeds obviously the larger displacement bikes will edge out. Ive personally witnessed this when my friends went at it. All this time I thought I would get a 750cc bike next. Definitely not though. Id rather keep my 600 for a few years and then do it right and get a 1000 (cbr ofcourse or a zx10). So yea...thoughts?

My buddy has a 96 750 gixxer, I don't find he has a lot more pull over my 2000 f4 most of the time although he does have more torque in 1st gear. We have never raced, I am speaking from experince ridding both bikes. Not sure which bike wold win in a race but I would guess the 750.

In my opinion, between the 2, rider size and skill can make more difference than displacement.
