Default Odd ball question....

I apparently was spray painting something in the garage (before I got my bike cover) and got some over spry on the bike. You can't really see it unless your really looking but I can feel it when I wash the bike and it's starting to annoy me. So I was wondering if anyone knew of anything to safely take it off? It's on the tank frame and fairing.....

Nick

I'd try some WD40 first. If that didn't work, then I'd probably try a little gasoline. If it still didn't work, I'd move to nail polish remover (acetone or non-acetone) in small doses.
But that's just me. Then I'd make sure to clean it real good afterwards w/ soapy water and then wax it.

Not to thread-jack here, but my bike was a stunters toy, and he painted a few parts of the fairings with flat black paint. The upper fairings are still red, the mid parts are painted flat black, and the right lower was flat black and the left was red. I used gas to remove the paint from the lower fairing to bring it back to red. Kinda like the red, black, red look (until I get new plastics next tax return).

So my question is, the finish is now dull. What can I do to try to restore the glossy finish, or is it ruined? Will wax bring it back?

Use" xylene" spirits to get the overspray off...google it. Or they usually have it at specialty paint stores(Sherman Williams).

You can try a good wax, it may just bring it back.

WD40 FTW! Always works if the overspray is fresh, unsure about if the paint is older.
