clear coat question

about to do some paint and vinyl designs on my bike was wondering if i clearcoat on top or put vinyl on top of clearcoat?

I work at our family body shop, and when we paint bikes like harleys and such, we base it with color first, then put decals on then clear over all it. Really you can do it either way, up to you!
