I was reading this thread looking for an answer for my dirty rims too. First I tried dryer sheets and yes they work, but requires alot of rubbing to get the grunge off and it's kinda hard to get the spokes. After about 10 minutes I went for my trusty bottle of WD-40 and pow within 5 minutes my rims were shiny again. Cleaned them off with soap and water then put a coat of wax on. WD-40 works wonders.

wheel acid at any detail shop, run about ten bucks takes about three minutes to do both wheels, and they look like new, just make sure you trust whoever dose it, if they dont know how to use it..youll have to paint your rims..
