looking for a 93 1000F stay cowl upper. cheapest on the net was 259.18. thinking about taking it to the local custom shop for some welding.

 

Cheapest option would be to have it welded - I'd buy a short length of pipe, one size smaller so it'll fit inside the stay, shove it into the pipe both ways as far as is practicable - have it welded so the weld penetrates the inner pipe as well. Won't break there again'
