Wanted - CBR1000f alternator - AUS
Hi All,
I need another alternator for my 87 but am having trouble finding one.
Does anyone out there have one they would sell?
I know they are the same up to and including 92 model, possibly even later.
Prefer Australian locaton due to shipping costs.
Cheers,
Scott.

87/88 are the same, later models are different and have a different reg/rec
Don't buy the wrong one.I'll have a look on e-Bay uk - think I may have seen one.
I Checked UK and USA, nothing) Germany will be expensive.
Why do you say you need a new one ? they seldom go wrong but the regulators do.........
Symptoms ?
Also you prob only need the cover with the electricals in it -
see www.mrcycles.com
much cheaper than a complete unit !!!

the unit on my bike is not like the ones where it is just a cover. the alternator is a stand aloe unit, similar to a car.
it broke because it sounded like it had rocks in it so i removed it, then I broke it trying to put it back on.
I thought it would be a good idea to use the mounting bolts to pull it in to place when it was a 'bit tight' then I heard a crack.....
Yes I know I am an idiot.
a hard lesson learned.

Easy done Scott ... chit happens ..
That one on Ebay at Liverpool looks like an early one ..
I took a look at the 87 88 and the 89 on the parts fiche
They certainly are way different to the 89 onwards ..
good luck

Hey Scott... alternators like that one of yours prolly can be rebuilt mate ...
If she was rattling , its more than likely the bearings that are gone in her ?...
Wizz it down to a good Auto Electrical repair store and see what they can do ..
They rebuild those types all the time mate ...
