Looks like new are about $80 + s/h from wholesale sites like MR Cycles & Cheap Cycle Parts. Would rather spend less on a used one if avail. Looking on eBay hasn't turned anything up lately.

For a 'Cane that is that old and that you would like to get and keep running. It is hard to find good and working parts. Now if it was up to me and I needed the part to get mine running down the road. I would order it from either one of the sites you posted.

 

i have one that came with a 88 1000f that i just got , u can have it !!! dont know if there is anything wrong with it or not , its just laying around let me know
