cobraDC65 put this together. i think it looks great and see no reason why we might not want to have him do the calender.

Update:

TK954RR (June) no longer has any original high res pictures of his bike and hasn't been able to get me new ones yet.

There was no competition for August so no one holds that title. There was a thread started to determine a winner back in December but nothing came out of that. AUGUST 08 ROTM?????????

Still waiting on ffingers (October) mod list.

And there is no cover at the moment because the BOTY hasn't been determined yet.

Yeah! It looks great! I've got a question! How can I get it if I live in Russia? : )

Who knows, maybe it will actually happen this year. From past experience, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

These things are difficult to get going because you get 200 orders but when they come in only 150 get paid for and you end up with 50 bird cage tray liners[8D]

If there is a big interest in getting this done then we can have ROTY be August as well. Do any of you guys know if you can submit to a calendar company and then let individuals order. Was not that way a few years ago but I have not looked into it in a while.

What about just before placing print order, requiring prepayment up front to know how many to order?

That is certainly an option but it leaves 1 person with a HUGE amount of work to do taking orders, collecting money and then mailing everything out. But if someone is willing to take it on then sounds great. Of course it will be Feb 2009 before the ROTY is settled so figure 2 months shot out first thing.

I just figured it would be the same amount of work (since someone would have to do it after order comes in anyway) but with less risk. Only problem though, based on my experience doing this for some of my print customers, is that if you take prepayment you will have to base the price on the total quantity you anticipate instead of actual quantity and also note to buyers that they may owe additional amount if order doesn't reach set quantity (at which time they have option to cancel order). This is because most printers charge based on quantity.

For example, let's say you anticipate somewhere between 100 - 200 total orders that WILL be prepaid by members and the printers price break point changes at quantities of 50, 100 & 200.
You would post a thread for what the per calendar (plus shipping) cost is to members by basing it on printers 100 quantity price with the disclaimer that all prepaid orders are based on reaching 100 minimum quantity.

Another alternative if no one wants to do extra work is to find a printer that will print them, take individual payments and ship them out .. I know there are some brick and mortar and online printers that do this but of course it costs a bit more than doing it yourself and they have different rules regarding up front minimum quantity agreements.
