Default typical 954 problems??

I'm getting ready to step up to the 954 this spring after i sell me 600F3. one question I have is... what are some of the problems and quirks I should lok out for??? anything to look for when going to buy one? I've settled on a 954 but I'm still going to look at the 929 because of prices, but i love the looks and sound of the 954... anyhelp would be greatly appreciated
thanks,

go with the 954.. well worth it.. 929 is a nice bike but a tan older and less power.. you will be more happy with the 954.. better looks also.. these bikes usually dont have to many problems.. look it over wehn you look at one.. look at the chain and sprockets that can tell you alot how it was ridden and matained... also how clean the bike is can tell a little bit.. usually a cleaner bike was cared for ... look at the details and if something doens't make sence then walk away there is always more and a better deal no sence in rushing it

Not really a quirk or a problem really, but the only complaint i have ever had with mine is the seat, its very uncomfortable and a good replacement is not cheap.

They seem to go through CCTs; mine was on the way out at 24,000 km and a mate's at 50,000. Other than that they are pretty durable. A mate got 196,000 km out of his 929.

some had poor casting on the engines cylinder block and would allow for hairline fractures to coolant passages thus rendering the engine worthless hard to notice w/ all plastics on and not running long enough to heat up and build pressure in the cooling system

I too went from a 6 to a 9 (54). Hurricane 600, '91 F2, '03 954. Wouldn't have it any other way!!!! Spent some time on R1, and an '05 zx10 (tricked out) and wouldn't trade my rr for anything...If you like the 'Honda feel" on your 6, u gonna love the nine - quit your job now cuz its hard to turn it down, bro. You should def. budget for a damper and some tickets....or learn the hard way..my latest 10 month suspension ends in 3 WEEKS and I'm goin straight to Willow Springs!!! **** Red Bull - HONDA gives you wings! ....never ride faster than your guardian Angel can fly.
