Tire options

I'm looking at a BT-002RS and a Pilot Power 190/50's. price difference is litterally a couple of bucks. Allegedly, the bridgestone is better, but my bike has giant michelin man stickers on it and I like the pilot power tread design a lot more. Front tire is a diablo corsa, but I don't need a new one, I don't care about matching, nor do I care to drop $200 on a new pirelli. My buddy swears by shinko stealths. He has a Busa, though. He also keeps telling me to get a 200 series tire, but again, I don't want to drop $200. I like $140 tires better. That said, I have never ridden on either brand. I used to always run dunlops on my ZX-11.
Anybody have experience with either of these tires on a 954?

on a 954, no i have zero experience, but i support the michelin power pilots all the way. just got a fresh pair for my F3 and LOVING it. i was considering shinkos as well, but the difference in price was minimal (like $30) so i went with my gut feeling and purchased the better more reliable brand. its the only thing between you and the road keeping you up. dont cut cost on something so important.

I bought the pilot power for $142.99. The best price I could get at work on a michelin was $200+. I work for bridgestone/firestone and we can't even get our own motorcycle tires. I briefly considered a conti motion pro, but I want the *** end planted. I'm still iffy about cornering, owing to a highside and a lowside within 6 months of each other on avon storms. there is a pretty good deal on michelin track tires on the bay, too. like $120 each.
Hopefully this tire will help me get my confidence back. Some of it has to do with having a crappy back tire on there now. its a pirelli maypop. LOL

Hey TK i have to kind of side with shinkos 009. I bought those because i have tried pp, conti, and metzer and i can probably say the 009 are the best ive had. ive put probably about 700 miles on em and it seems like driving in a straight line it doesnt want to do. i can touch the clip ons and these tires want to take me straight to a knee dragger..

Well i am basing my opinion off of a model i tried probably 4 years ago now or so. I probably should not be doing that anymore, its just that when i tried them they were just horrid. I am sure they have improved a lot over the past couple of years. All i remember is they were like rocks, i could not even clutch a 2nd gear wheelie without tire spin.
