Nah still no way in hell the 954 is lighter. Look at all the things that are made different, to reduce the weight. My 954 is an 03 model and the 1000rr is an 08. Your telling me that in 5yrs, they still havent made a bike thats lighter with my HP.......Dont see it happening......954 is old school technology and it just cant compare to the 08 1000RR......YES i own a 954, but i will still say it doesnt compare. I've had my share of riding the 1000RR and my 954 compares no way in hell to that 1000RR........954 is a good bike, but its still a past time bike. With the technology they have now days. Its a matter of time before the 954 is long gone and forgotten......=-)

i think there might be something wrong with your bike.

will1000rr on this forum has an 08, so do a few others that we ride with. they cant pull away from me in straights, and they're not beating me in corners. i dunno. spec wise you're mistaken, but if your bike isnt holding up next to these newer ones, there's something wrong with it.

+1I couldnt feel a difference in the two bikes. My buddy and I traded back and forth on a 4 hour ride. He felt that the 954 was better at sticking the corners, and the power was bouteven. We raced aroundall day and we were side by sideevery time. Something MUST be wrong with your bike if the 1k is leaving you...Dont just throw specs out there and insist that they are right. DO YOUR RESEARCH !!!!! Technology has improved but street legal regulations have not.New ideas dont mean abetter product.Honda dropped the ball when they came out with the first 1k. Nothing has really changed. Still, would you pay 11,500 for a new 1k- or 7,000 for a bike that can match the sameperformance levels..

Actually Respect the 954 is lighter then the 08 stock for stock by about 5lbs. I have done a few weight reductions and side by side on the scale at the local track here my 954 was 9 lbs lighter then my buddies stock 08. We had both filled up about 20 miles earler for racing so there could be a small differance in fuel capacity, but not 9 lbs worth. Also according to all the reading i have done the 54 was and still is the lightest liter bike ever made. I had actually had a good arguement about it in the 1krr forum here a few months back.

the 954 will never be 4gotten. i'd love for them to bring em back out with the same body and everything with more power just so i could have a new one. to me, its the best looking sport bike so far and one of the best sportbikes period

styling in my opinion isnt what should sway you to a bike.

i rode my friends R1 and i'm not really a fan of it.
