You can get a infrared thermometer for $20 on amazon. I find a million uses for it.

Exxon 89, but i've started using 93. I think the previous owner had the bike stored at his parents for years. They probably started it and let it idle for a few minutes, instead of actually riding it.

I might try pouring a little seafoam through the throttle bodies or maybe using a spray bottle of water.

I believe the 954 is supposed to run on 91. I used to run 93 but switched to 89 or 91 if I can find it. The bike seems to run better on 91. She really likes the non ethanol gas when I can find it but there is only one station in town that has it.

I've heard there is non-ethanol gas in St. Augustine at one station, but haven't ventured over yet.

No one has 91 in Florida, it's 89 or 93.

Manual calls for 86 or better...I run 87 with no problems, same with my FZ 1.

Swapping the coils again makes no difference in header temps. my readings are probably not accurate where I'm measuring. I need to measure right at the head to really see the difference. If I measure at the bend, then each pipe is pretty close.

I tried spraying a little distilled water over the intakes while revving it. I realized that my bike is FUKING LOUD with no airbox. I'm in a insulated building but I'm sure you could hear it a mile away. I was surprised how little water mist actually got sucked it, so I tried shutting it off and spray some right onto the intake valves, then wait a few minutes before restarting. That seems to be cleaning the intake valves, slowly, but surely.

I'm going to go to the only Chevron in town and fill it up, then beat the hell out of it. I imagine the exhaust valves look just as black.

Finally figured out how to set up the camera to focus only in the middle point.

Carb cleaner would prob take most of that off. Not sure how bad it would be on the engine though lol.
