Default Shortened can ?

I found a used shortened two bro carbon fiber can, will this cause my bike to lose any power do to less back pressure? Also I think it requires the cone to be cut are there any negative effects to this?

I also found a full micron Sherpant system for a good deal which would create more power? and which will be louder?

if you found a serpent system - get that! the whole point of the serpent system is the "pinched" headers - it creates a "spin" on the exhaust gases that flows them better than anything stock. thats really all the serpent system does. if it doesn't have the headers, it's not really worth it imho.

and thus, those headers wouldn't have too much of an impact on the loudness. a shortened and gutted can is going to be the loudest. my gutted and cut stock can was as loud as the d&d.

but nothing is as loud as my cut off mid-pipe that txsmainevent made... that thing sounds like pure evil running down the road

i got a 2002 954rr. i have two brothers can on my bike i took the original piece of pipe that was in the can out and put a piece of regular pipe in it place and wrapped packing around it an stuck it in the can so its like a straight pipe will that cause me to burn a valve or mess up my engine if i run it like that all year around

Putting a solid pipe in your muffler internals pretty much make it a straight pipe. At that point why even leave the muffler on? Just cut it off and lose even more weight.

because the police around here are already on my back they follow me waiting for me to cut loose on them and no muffler will be a visual reason to pull me over but i love my bike to be super loud but my main concern is the life of my engine

nah, you should be fine. if your pipes were only a foot or so long (which i've seen before), there's cause for concern. but if you still have the pipe on there with the htev, you should be fine. they'd have to be really hot (running hot - 400 degrees) and then have like 80 degree air hit them pretty quick to warp them at all. no problems with the txsmainevent pipe and it had a lot of miles on it from me and him - no problems (and that's no htev too)
