Default Running rich after valve clearances

Just had a weekend I'd sooner forget, and there's no way I'm the first this has happened to but there was nothing on the internet so putting this out there in hope it helps someone else one day....

I have just checked the valve clearances on my 954, after putting it back together it sounded really rough, almost like it was on 3 cylinders, was cutting out and wouldn't idle properly, after replacing spark plugs to no avail and taking apart again, the spark plugs were soaked in fuel, bike was running mega rich.

Long story short I put it into diagnostics mode and had codes 1,2,8,9 and 35, I found the maint manual online and followed procedure 1, doing this I noticed the wrong coloured wires on the map sensor.

The map sensor and throttle body sensor which are located pretty much on top of each other have exactly the same shape connector, and both reach the other. I had it the wrong way round... Duh. Swapped them over, all good!

Hopefully when someone else does this they find this helpful

HAHAHAHAHAHA
I had the EXACT same issue after the EXACT same action.

Laughed my ... off after reading this.
Also posted this issue somewhere else on this forum.

Have you also noticed the label on the wire of the throttle positionsensor that says: TPS?
It should have this label.

thanks for posting this
