It's going to cost you though. I think it is around 900 plus for a new one. I would take yours and your front fairing with your front fender for reference to a paint shop. My tank cost me 300 to get painted. They will be able to match the colors, they matched my green. This is what an all black 954 will look like:

Default Part Number for a Black Upper Fairing?

Gents,

New 954RR owner and forum member here.

I picked up my Silver/Black '02 yesterday and am in the process of giving it a little TLC. The decals are gone (still working on the adhesive). The original silver upper fairing has seen better days, and I would like to replace it with an OEM black upper fairing (cowl).

Can anybody confirm the year and part number for a black upper fairing? I think it's 64100-MCJ-A10ZB for a 2003. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

First thing I did to mine was pull off the RR and leave the stripes.. If you're looking for more color you should let me powder coat some parts for ya! This is all my own powder coating work.

sick looking bike Steve! I think I'm going to have to powder coat my wheels red and maybe poslish the frame, instead of powder coating the swing arm.

Thanks! I think the polished frame and silver swing arm complete the bike. It was a polished frame with a painted swing arm when I got the bike and it looked like complete crap. appeared as though the frame just stopped and the bike didn't flow well. If you want anything coated let me know. I got into coating to help other bikers who don't wanna pay ridiculous costs for PC.

did you polish the frame and swing arm or is the frame just brushed like the stock swing arm?

I'm thinking about doing brushed aluminum for the frame to match the swing arm, but not sure how to get the same look.

Strip the frame/subframe..... Smooth it out, then clear coat it or put some protective coat over it. Try airplane paint stripper to remove the frame powdercoat. If you have to then go through the steps of sanding to remove all black....

I've been reading up on brushing aluminum and scrotch brite pads seemed to be what is recommended. Not sure if that is going to look just like the swing arm though.

I'm not concerned about getting all the black off.

Did this in about 30 minutes with a scotch brite scrub sponge and some rubbing compound. I just kept scrubbing in one direction and spray with water. You can see at the top of the frame that I didn't go high enough, but that paint came off much quicker than I expected.
