Default Ratiator fan

the fan kicks on at 214 and shuts off at 204, we know that already, but, is there some way to change what temp it comes on and shuts off at? [>:]

install a switch and mount it next to your instrument pannel, then it comes on when you tell it to and goes off when you tell it to. Other than that, i think the answer is no, unless you can or know someone who can reprogram the ecu, which would probably not be that hard if you had an in with someone at honda, rather simple programs in the ecu, just have to have the honda software to access it to change the figures, would only have to change two lines of the code and you would be set. My friend is at an interview as i write this with honda, if i can get an in there im going to try alot of crazy ****.

yes, i found myself in a spot yesterday where there was traffic in every direction, and i was just stuck, stop and go, stop and go.

i dont like overheating, and just want it to come on a few degrees before the boiling point. and maybe stay on untill the bike is reasonably cooled down.

the only way your going to be able to do that(unless you can do the previously metioned programing) is to install a switch. Mine in stop and go traffic runs at 215ish all the time. when riding at 185ish. personaly dont think its a big problem to let it run the way it does, make sure you have plenty of fluid, good water pump, good fan, you'll be ok.

I always assumed that they like to run warm, all bikes kick on at higher temps like that. If not why would any of the manufacturers not program them to come on earlier?

sounds like a good question to ask the engineers at Honda, im sure if you keep it short and sweet they would be happy to give you a quick reason or some test results from thier research.
