Sprocket alignment physical size of motor and mounting points.

maybe im wrong but i was just thinking... i compared the width of the cbr 1000rr of the 04/07 and the bike it's more large than the 954,but i compared the width of the cbr 1000rr 2008 and the bike (so i mean bikes with the farings also) and it's on 5mm more than the 954..you think that could make something?

for toobroke: the bike it's just 5mm more large than the 954,so i think maybe it's possible but i just compared the two bikes nothing else, about the mounting points if the over fit i would have problem with the rear because the frame of the 954 it's not like the cbr 1000 frame about the sprocket i don't know..like i said before i was just thinking, maybe it's possible to made..i think all of you know more than me about the cbr 900rr of the 98 with the engine of the 04 cbr 1000rr..

The engine dimensions are not readily available online. It would required a way of mounting the engine to the swingarm brace I Dont think the front mounts on the frame would work either.

Bet on none of the mounts working.

The problem is that 954 frame does not brace the swing arm. You're talking about putting an engine in there that doesn't, and can't support the swing arm.

With all of the bracing/chopping, boxing out parts of the frame, and mount fabrication you'd have to do, it will either weigh a ton, or flex like a you-know-what. The back part of the frame would have to be almost entirely re-engineered.

I know fighters aren't everybody's cup of tea, but you should Google Cabbie's "Boxer". Its a 100% ground up custom framed 900rr. You can see what all is involved. I'd think you'd need to cut off the back part of the frame along those welds and entirely fabricate the rear of the frame.

Just remember, everything else is going to need to change in order to accommodate the new motor. I sincerely doubt you'll have anything left of the 954, minus the tail and the nose fairing....

I would prefer building the 954 motor. It's pretty capable motor with the right changes
