Okay who really knows their 954's???
I have a problem with my bike and I have no idea what could be wrong. I turn the key to ON and my display comes on and shows 0 mph and the temp and miles and everything, but it doesnt light up. Also, with the key to ON, my fuel pump doesnt prime, my headlight doesnt come on and my signals dont work either, but the neutral light and the red FI light comeson.If I hit the starter button it will turn over for 5-8 seconds then it will start, and everything kicks on- as long as Ihold the starter button down it will run. BUT as soon asI let go of that starter button the bike stalls and I'm back to square one. What the hell is the matter with my bike?! For whatever reason the "accessories" power isnt engaging when I turn the key on. The only power is through the starter button.SOMEBODY HELP ME!
I'll do what i can to help you, but lets hope this is not li.ke my bikes electrical gremlins.
First start with the fuses as mentioned.
Then check all of the relays per manual instructions. Dont forget the fuel pump relay by the battery
then let us know what you find there.

All the fuses are good. I checked the relays on the tail section -there are 3 of them, all the same part number I beleive- and they seem to all be good. I did not check the one by the battery however... I didnt know there was one there? But even if that was bad, would that cause the symptoms that I mentioned or would it just prevent the fuel pump from priming? And REDF4i- just wondering, how did you conclude that it was your ECU? (also, thanks for all this help guys)
i would have to agree with redf4i, it sounds like the ecu if all of those other things are good. but i was going to make a couple more suggestions before you drop a buck fifty on a new ecu.
so what i was thinking is.... if you want to just skip to the ecu, you could ship it to me, ill put it in my bike, see what my bike does and that would be a pretty good indication of if its bad or not, then i could ship it back to you. I know you might not want to ship something like that to a complete stranger, but im not going to gank your stuff and if your considering that option im sure some of the guys on here could reassure you that i wont rip you off. It would just be a real simple way to test the ecu for about $10 shipping total.
let me know.
